My body hurts I feel like I've been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson and my voice is gone all because I forgot I was nearer 40 than 20 .The reason ... Big Country yes I know they were never the most trendy of band but they could always play LIVE. Since Stuart Adamson died the back end of 2000 there has been a void in live music and last night it was filled  again . The 3 original members were joined by Mike Peters and Jamie Watson who set the tone between remembrance and celebration just right. You could argue with set lists and the odd bum note. You could not argue that every one enjoyed earring these songs again and the mosh pit was in full flow and I WAS 20 AGAIN ...
From 1000 stars till the end I got younger and younger and so did every one else turning the time back when my voice would have been ok and my body would not ache.Some body said you can't have Big Country without Stuart .But they if half a band get together with a bloke from Free and call themselves Queen why not. BC were always a tight unit and with Mike they have a man who can do the job and Jaimie is as good a Guitarist as his dad .... So I'll be glad to see them again ...

The Lost count Blog

Beer fests are great places to work when your skint but do have side effects ... Drinking 8% plus beer for 8 hour a day 3 days running takes its toll with symptoms which include. Furry mouth thick head and what did I say last night . Yet you can test some fine Beer I was lucky to be on the Bottle beer committee so I helped choose to beer . I can't remember or be bothered listing them all but here's stand out beers ...
1 Tripel Kalmanite .... The best beer in the world a couple of years ago and can't see a reason why not I got a few of them in to get rid of beers I didn't like .....
2 Arrogant Bastard from Stone ..... The Bottle is better than the beer and the beer is good a Throat scratching IPA in the Typical yank style ....
3 Hercule Stout ..... Just class 1 of if not the best stout in the world tastes great .....

There were others but as I have said cant remember  them all...
Today is Piss up in a Brewery at Salamander in Bratfud ( Braford if your Foreign ) with a drinking club I'm a member of ... A group of us buy a barrel of beer and charge 1 pound a pint to pay for barrel nowt wrong in it as barrel is paid out of funds ........

No matter what The Twats in charge do to Feck up you money. Don't let your standards drop and keep supporting great beer ... Don't drink Carlsbog and Twatleys and other shite beers keep you standards high.....

The Third Go

Right its been a while since I had a go at this blogin lark......
 A few weeks ago got invited to a Brewery opening for Bridgehouse and to be honest I got in a bit of a mess as the IPA was as good as I've had and Free did go to a new pub after in Meanwood then a couple in Leeds the travel home wasn't fun . Seen as this is about getting good beer on the cheap these events are good.I would love to pay full price all the time but needs must.
 I did have a Little trip to The Grove in Huddersfield because I like Big boy beers I would rather have three or four %7/8 beers than a dozen weaker ones and it works out cheaper ..... This oh its too strong bull is just rubbish Treat With Respect and you should be fine .... I had a real nice Gouden Carolus Winter Ale 10.5% almost Dandelion and Burdock in taste and went down too easy I wanted a pint but as its a long way home via a dodgy guided bus route that mixes up all the beer so its better if I don't have too much . (don't always work) but I try .....
Will hopefully be going to Ostend in new year as a Xmas Present from my Folks so should be fun and a nice Case of Brewdog Chaos Theory 7.1% IPA nice taste and too easy to drink though it is making this blog  look ok ......

  Right I typed save up and go for stronger beers take your time with them and enjoy .....

Beer : A Skint Blokes Guide- Second Blog

Past couple of weeks have been pretty good a trip to Elland Brewery and Kieghley Beer Festival . Both pretty good if your skint . Paid my 2pound to the drinking club I'm a member off for the privilege of being at Dave Sanders leaving do and all I can say is cracking beer and what to expect when he and partners set up Kirkstall Brewery at about Xmas. Oak ageing and some beasts are to be expected . I hope the standard does not fall at Elland .The picture is of a few people including  who guested on Dave Hodsons radio show Link at bottom of page .....

Keithley as it should be spelt had there beer fest which went really well a nice selection of British beers Spent my 10 quid for starter pack which kept me going for a while then the look started 1st someone left there token on a table which made for 1 American beer the very nice Saranac Imperial Stout at 9% every thing you want from a Imp Stout warming drinkable with a nice balance of Chocolate and Liquorish taste . A special mention goes to the bloke I met from The Brew Co in Sheffield really nice to Talk to him and his beer Hop Monster was Pretty good as well . Some friends went home and left me there tokens but as the Saranac was a beast it was time to go watch Leeds RL lose to the Pies so a couple of take outs were in order so a bottle of imp Stout and Unita Barley wine will help winter days . Though did forget to cash in the glass I think but was a tad tiddly by then .Roll on the next chance for a beer ....RIP Terry Newton ....

First Blog

Having never done a blog/diary or put fingers to key board in any form . This blog will have spelling mistakes inacurices and not a lot of photos editing and fancy bits . It will go off on tangents and my computor will crash when I up load . It will be about Beer Music and RL none of that Chavball Shite and the music will be like my beer Real and hand crafted .
This year I have been that busy that I will be glad to get a job for the rest what with volunteering music/beer fests  and looking for yetis/jobs . Seen as the people who run the country have killed of all the jobs and push the price of everything up and up. My local sells shit beer at posh prices so I have to catch a bus to Leeds or Halifax as Pudsey is a desert for real ale it needs a Spoons  . So I will be off to Elland back for a beer at the brewery as it seems like a good thing . I'll be there with a drinking club a good thing as I don't have to rely on my mate's who class Pudsey as good drinking. The the dilemma is tonight do I get on the bus Knowing chavball will be on everywhere and spend more than I've got on average beer and transport or just stay local spend more than I've got or average beer! . Then I should stop in my cellar is pretty good but I like pubs. Just because a pub has good beer does that make it a good pub? and just because the pubs beer is crap does it become crap?.
